Consignment
- We sell guns on consignment.
- Simply bring your gun (or gun collection) to our store. We will appraise the firearm(s) and help you determine a fair starting price.
- We protect your identity and act as the contact with the buyer.
- You drop off the gun; we do all the work and give you the money when it sells.
- We will ensure that the purchaser of the firearm is legally able to buy it.
- We expose your gun to a wider market. This allows hundreds of potential buyers to see your gun.
- On consignment sales, we ask that you leave your gun with us for a minimum for 30 days.
- We do not charge any service charge to sell your gun, unless you pick it up before the 30 day minimum, in which case there will be a $10 bookkeeping fee. If your gun does not sell, you will have to complete a NICS background check before you can take it back home.
- We are bound by all Federal, State and Local firearms laws.
Layaway
- We offer free layaway on our items. Depending on the price of the item, the layaway period is between 30 and 45 days.
- If you need longer to pay for an item, there is an alternative option.
- You can pay towards a specific item (even one we do not have in the store) and take as long as you would like to pay for it. Once you have about 75% of the item paid for, we will order the item in for you.
- This is often the best option for people who would like to order a new item and spread out the payment period for a longer time.
- Generally the shorter layaway period is best for used or hard-to-find items, as we cannot guarantee their availability.
Pawn
We do accept firearms on pawn. If you are unsure of the pawn process, please read below. If you would like to pawn a firearm, please stop by and see us.
We are registered as a firearms dealer and must comply with all regulations. This means that if you choose to pawn a firearm, you must complete and pass the NICS background check at the time of redemption. We require clearly visible serial numbers on all firearms. All firearm serial numbers are submitted to local law enforcement for review against reported thefts.
- What is a pawn? Pawn loans are a quick and easy way to borrow money without a credit check or hassle. A pawn is a loan that is secured by collateral that you provide which we hold until you pay us back or forfeit the collateral to settle. When you pay the loan back plus the charges due, we return your collateral to you. If you can not pay off your loan in full, you may renew the loan for another 30 days by paying the accrued interest charges only. You may renew your loan as many times as needed.
- Does a pawn affect my credit rating? Since a pawn is a secured loan it does not affect your credit. There is never a credit check and your credit score cannot be affected by any pawn transactions even if you never pay us back.
- How long do I have to redeem my merchandise? In Georgia, pawn transactions are for 30 days. If at the end of the 30 days you can not pay the loan back in full, you may renew for another 30 days by paying the accrued interest charges only. You may renew you loan as many times as needed.
- How much does a pawn transaction cost? As determined by law in the State of Georgia, pawn charges are 25%. So, if you borrow $100 then your interest charges due within 30 days is $25. You can pick up your item at that time by paying us back the amount loaned plus the charges due, or just renew the loan by paying the charges due which will renew your loan for another 30 days.
- Do pawn shops deal in stolen property? In Georgia, as in most states, pawn shops are required by law to report all merchandise taken in. We provide the local authorities with a detailed description of each item including the serial number and identification of our customer. Studies have shown that less than one-tenth of one percent of the items taken nationwide by pawn shops is stolen property.
- How do you know that an item is not stolen? In short, we do not. However, we report our acquisitions on a regular basis, as required by law. Anyone who sells, trades, or pawns any item must show a valid government issued picture ID (Driver’s License, State Issued ID, etc) in order to complete their transactions. This is a major deterrent as criminals do not wish to identify themselves.
- How much should I expect to be loaned on my merchandise? Loans vary according to the merchandise. There is no minimum or maximum dollar amount allowed on a pawn transaction. A pawnbroker has to recoup his money by selling the item should you choose not to redeem it. We base loan amounts on the value of your item – its current appraised value, current condition, and our ability to sell the item. Item age and desirability also factor into the loan value. As an added value to our customers, we also take into account an individuals good pick-up record. A good pick-up record will allow us to loan higher than the normal loan amount on an item. We are flexible at times when a regular customer really needs a little extra cash.
- Can you give a quote on an item over the phone? Unfortunately, we can not give quotes over the phone because loan amounts vary greatly depending on the condition, age, and demand of the item. We test each item as best as we can to insure that it is in proper working order. The better the condition, the higher amount of our loan.
Firearm Transfers
NOTICE:
Before you decide to buy a weapon elsewhere and have it FFL transferred to us, please call us to see if we can save you money buy ordering the weapon directly from us. Many times we can get you a better price, rather than paying the FFL transfer and shipping fees .
We offer firearm transfers for the public. Customers who need to ship guns to family members or buyers, who have purchased guns online and need them shipped to an FFL, or need firearms transferred for any other reason may contact us for our FFL information. Our fee for most firearm transfers (such as from GunBroker, Bud’s Gun Shop, Cheaper than Dirt, etc) is $35. For firearms transfers from a wholesaler (CDNN, J&G Wholesale), our transfer fee is either 15% of the order total or $50, whichever is greater. Click here to email us or visit our contact page for our contact information.
Due to our limitations on space, if you are unable to pick up your transfer within 14 days after delivery, there will be a $10 per week charge until it is picked up.
We are happy to facilitate the transfer of incoming firearms for our customers who are US citizens with a valid Georgia Drivers License (for handguns) or a valid out of state Driver’s License (for long guns).
There are two main kinds of transfers we can manage for you.
- First is a transfer between two local individuals. This is when a local person is selling a firearm to another and both parties want to ensure the transaction is conducted legally. This protects both parties involved.
- To do this type of transfer, both parties must come into the store. The seller/owner will bring the gun in to be transferred and their identification. We will receive the gun from them and log it into our books and give them a receipt showing it has been removed from their name.
- The buyer/receiver can come in at the same time as the seller or can come at a later time. The buyer will fill out the federal firearm purchase form and present current identification and, if applicable, permit to purchase. We will verify the background check and, upon successful completion, transfer the firearm to the new owner.
- The second kind of transfer is a long distance transfer. This occurs when a seller is too far away to bring the item in person. This is common when someone purchases a gun through an auction service, from a distant gun store or receives a firearm from an out of state party.
- The shipping dealer MUST enclose an ink signed copy of their FFL along with an invoice or packing slip indicating the purchaser’s name, phone number and firearm details, including the serial number with the gun.
- NOTE: Before we can receive a firearm from another dealer we must send that dealer a copy of our Federal Firearms License (FFL).
NFA (Silencer/Short Barreled Rifle/Machine Gun) Transfers
- NFA transfer fees are $75 when the transferee is an individual, or $100 when the transferee is a trust. The trust transfer processing fee includes one responsible persons form; each additional responsible person (trustee) is $5.
- We do not create trusts, nor do we have an attorney to whom we refer customers.
- Machine gun transfer fees are 1.5% of the selling price, or $100 minimum. The transfer fee is an additional $25 when the transferee is a trust. The trust transfer processing fee includes one responsible persons form; each additional responsible person (trustee) is $5.
Shipping Firearms
- If you are needing to ship a firearm to another state (transfer to a family member, sold a gun online, etc), we can ship it for you.
- The cost is $35 for the transfer fee, plus the price of shipping.
- The shipping charges depend upon how large the box is, how much it weighs, and how much (if any) insurance is needed.
- If you would like for us to ship a firearm for you:
- You will need to have the firearm already packaged and ready to be shipped.
- You will also need to have the receiving dealers FFL copy.
- If the dealer will not release a copy of their FFL to an individual, please have them email us a copy of their FFL at [email protected], or we can email them a request for a copy (if they would like to verify our FFL before they share theirs).
- All of this needs to be arranged prior to bringing your firearm to be shipped.
- We will also need a copy of your driver’s license or other government issued identification.
